Welcome to the next instalment of the Technical/Product update, designed specifically for Festo Distributors and nominated Key Customers.

2010 has certainly started with great optimism as the momentum gained in the latter part of ’09 continues. From a product perspective 2010 promises to be an interesting year. A sneak peek at the some of the interesting innovations heading our way reinforces Festo’s commitment to remaining the Industry leader. Our commitment to ongoing research and development is unparalleled in the field of Industrial Automation.

In this edition we thought that we’d focus on some products that offer unique advantages whether this be from a safety, performance, cost or design perspective.

Choose the best defence- Category 4 Safety Valve

Festo's new safety valve ensures all bases are covered in the event of an emergency stop in critical pneumatic safety zones.
   
Based on a dual 3/2-way configuration with integrated safety relay, it is a self checking inherently safe redundant system in accordance with  AS 4024 Category 4 and ISO 13849-1 Performance Level "e" ensuring the pneumatic safety objective of a "safe exhaust function".
   
Installation can be part of our modular (MS) air preparation range or it can be commissioned as a stand-alone unit.

WOW! 5 Billion Cycles, ultra performance from a valve.

Festo’s new fast switching “Jet Valves” are now available.
This range is specifically designed to be an ultra fast valve developed for sorting technology.
   
The range is directly actuated and features a short switching time of less than 1ms. Additionally, as this is a grease and seal-free poppet valve, we are able to offer an unbeatable service life of more than
5 billion switching cycles!
 
The "Jet Valve" series is available as a single component, manifold or sub-base design.
